Sweet and smart

After our Wednesday evening workouts we save 10-15 minutes for the Girls EDGE-rs to do homework, read a book, look over spelling words or otherwise exercise their minds. 

Why?


Science!


Numerous studies have documented the link between exercise and brain function, in particular in adolescents. 



At Girls EDGE, we find that since our Wednesday session is on a school night, giving time to complete a student's ever-growing amount of homework is helpful from the girls' perspective as well as the grateful parents! In a day and age where physical education and often recess are getting cut back, we never want them to ask themselves the question, 

"Should I workout (and have fun) or do homework?"
Let's do both!
